Leather Care Guide
Cared for properly, genuine leather lasts for decades and ages beautifully. Here's how to keep your piece looking its best.
Everyday care
- Store on a wide, padded hanger in a cool, dry place — never in plastic.
- Let leather breathe; avoid prolonged direct sunlight and heat.
- Wipe dust with a soft, dry cloth.
If it gets wet
Pat dry with a towel and let it air-dry naturally, away from radiators or hairdryers. Once dry, apply a leather conditioner.
Conditioning
Every few months, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner to keep the hide supple and prevent cracking. Always patch-test first.
Suede & shearling
Use a suede brush to lift the nap and a suede eraser for marks. Avoid water and conditioners made for smooth leather.
Velvet & embroidered pieces
Spot clean gently and store flat or hung. We recommend professional cleaning for heavy soiling.
When in doubt, consult a professional leather cleaner — especially for stains or restoration.
